Details
A species of grouper brownish in color, characterized by box-shaped black spots on its side.
How to Catch:
Caught while bottom fishing with heavy tackle on wrecks and other structure. Use live bait such as pinfish, pigfish, shrimp or other small crustaceans, or use cut bait including squid or bait plugs. Drop bait to the structure using an appropriate size weight (8 oz. is generally acceptable for deeper offshore waters).
